Inventory.
DIXIT, the internal newspaper, in a company where secrecy is a religion is rather a propaganda organ for direction, rather than a communication one. No budget is affected there, and no specific publication frequency. It is written by a secretary, that Herculean task does not frighten.The newspaper appears in the shape of stapled black & white photocopies . I associate this courageous secretary with me.It is clean, but hardly more exciting with to read than the Yellow Pages.
Nevertheless it has the merit to exist and to be distributed to the 1000 employees of the company. Even if nobody devotes a very attentive reading to it, each one throws there a small glance on it.
We decide to make a special publication for the SALON DU BOURGET. It is the COMMUNICATION OPERATION of the company (see the concerned heading ). A pharaonic budget of several million francs is devoted there, that is to say 99,9% of the budget of communication.
Also, as soon as of the exhibition closed one asked me to draft a DIXIT special LE BOURGET Paris Air Show..

According to me a corporate Newspaper won't be only the Chairman's propaganda tool. It is designed to link all different professions, locations in the company. This the ideal communication tool to maintain or develop a corporate spirit throughout individual or department performance inside the company. Even if the editorial headlines are guided by direction, in my point of view the tone must as much as possible easy and pleasant to read.
I wish I could found some redactors thoughout the company. You can hardly imagine how people have a lot of things to say about their job - if you ask them - sales people their business, the engineers their new developments, Management about a new project... Unfortunately, this process is deadly time consuming to set up.
This special edition was dedicated for the wide majority of people not invited to the PARIS AIR SHOW EXHIBITION. In some ways this is THE big party of the company, so I decided to make something pleasant to read owing to two methods :
